🇮🇪 Can Damien Duff's Shelbourne finish this season's crazy Irish title race as champions?
Four points between the top four teams, two games to play - it couldn't be tighter!
Damien Duff was so worried about the glum mood within his Shelbourne squad that he made his players watch episodes of Only Fools and Horses.
Having gone top of the League of Ireland Premier Division table, Shels then went all of September without winning a single game. The club’s first title since 2006 looked to be slipping from their grasp.
Whether or not Del Boy and Rodney made the difference, Shelbourne returned to winning ways by beating Waterford last week. Beat Drogheda United on Friday and Derry City next week and Duff’s team will be champions.
That, however, is far from guaranteed. Nothing has ever been guaranteed in the Irish top flight this season with just four points between the top four - Shelbourne, Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s.Â
The craziest title race Irish football has ever witnessed will have its finale over the next two weeks. Anything could happen.
