Barbra Banda is the billboard star of African women’s football right now, as proven by the fact there is a giant billboard of the Zambian in Rabat.

Rabat is where the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (delayed by a year) will be played. It’s where the tournament, which kicks off in Morocco this weekend, will be defined with the Cooper Queens among the favourites.

Having finished third at the 2022 tournament, Zambia believe their so-called golden generation is ready to become WAFCON champions for the first time with Banda key to their hopes.

The Copper Queens and their golden girl(s) could be set for a run that changes the landscape of African women’s football.
