When Chivas take to the field in Santiago, Dominican Republic on Thursday night, they will be in familiar surroundings.
Indeed, the Mexican giants visited the same venue back in 2018 when Cibao were making their first appearance in the CONCACAF Champions Cup (CONCACAF Champions League, as it was back then).
Seven years on, the two teams will face each other once more.
Cibao have since established themselves as the dominant force in Dominican football, winning five league titles and making the final of last seasonβs Caribbean Cup.
Furthermore, The Orange Beast have led a footballing revolution on the Caribbean island. A rematch with Chivas is an opportunity to showcase how far Dominican football has come.
